Bird, Alfred Thomas (1910-1990)

Alfred Thomas BirdAlfred Thomas Bird was born 24 December 1910 in Charters Towers, Queensland, Australia. Alfred was the first child of Frank Chetwynd Bird and Clara Bulley. In 1912 his brother Frank Chetwynd Bird jnr was born, followed by Ronald Cedric Bird in 1923.

On 7 February 1942 Alfred married Dorothy Joyce Teitzel in Townsville. Together they had at least four children : Vivien Joyce (b. 1943), John Chetwynd (b. 1944), Lesley Anne (b. 1947) and Helen Mary (b. 1948).
